Gather with your peers!
The Gathering offers awesome opportunities!
When two competing hostels, who were mere blocks apart from each other, found a way to work together and support experiential travel in their city, it was proven that building each other up instead of seeing each other as the enemy, is possible and beneficial. When Sydney and Thea first started chatting about how their hostels could work together, the damn was opened and they didn’t stop chatting about how to support each other, how to support other local hostels, and how great it would be to build a network of other hostel owners and operators.
Hey there! We are Sydney and Thea, owners of The Hostel Collective!
In 2018, the Hostel Collective was founded as a way to support hospitality and tourism in our favorite state. Colorado is home to dozens of unique hostels and trending accommodations and we knew there was a lot to learn from each other, so we gathered managers and owners over an epic weekend to connect and learn from each other. Turns out, we loved it! And we kept the good times rolling until the pandemic.
The Hostel Collective’s 2019 Gathering Happy Hour! What a time!
In 2022, we re-launched The Hostel Collective and invited hostels from across the country to save their seat at the table for sessions on marketing, building community, genuine connections with like-minded folks, and first-hand accounts on how to best diversify your business.
Every hostel operates differently, in different regions, with different peak seasons and different business models. Clearly, there is no ONE right way. But our stories & struggles are similar. And hostels are nothing without community!
We will announce the 2023 Gathering dates in early May, 2023.
“Networking between hostels is a phenomenal way to learn the latest trends and share information on key components of hostel life; insurance, marketing, channel management, and equipment. It’s fun to connect with others who can relate to this unique industry. Great and informative for current or potential hostel owners and managers.”
